It feels good to be be back to the blog! This past week and a half have been quite eventful. Our oldest son got a new-old car, I got a new blog-worthy camera, and my husband and I attended my 20 year high school reunion.
This was my hot date for the night. There's nothing like a good strong man that can carry you piggy back to the car after a party. Not because you've had too much to drink, but because you can't walk another step in your five-inch-peep-toe-never-meant-for-dancing-shoes. Quite a sight to behold.
Also, this past week, I've been finishing up a few projects in our youngest two boys' shared bedroom. At the end of this month, Remodelaholic.com is having a link up party for
children's
bedrooms. What better motivation to get stuff done than a deadline?
Maybe it's my love for typography or it could be my love of the color blue, but I've really been inspired by all the map themed boy's rooms that I've seen on the internet. I already have a large, 69x48"
laminated world map on the wall above Mason's bed.
I've been wanting to experiment with decoupage and maps. Later this week, I'll show you a couple of projects that I did for the boys' room. So without giving too much away, I wanted to share with you some fabulous diy-able ideas for using Mod Podge and maps. Here are a few that I'm coveting from Etsy.
And if you just so happen to have a couple dozen vintage maps lying around, why not wallpaper your bathroom? Uh...wow!
Here is a round up of some blogger's maps and Mod Podge projects to get you inspired.
So which map + Mod Podge projects did I choose to do for the boy's bedroom? I'll give you a hint...it's none of the above. :)
Hey, gald your back!!!Soooo cool. Thank you for this much needed inspiration. I have actually been eyeing some vintage maps for an art project for the boys bath, this is awesome, just what I needed to see:). I can't wait to see the room when it is done! Great picture BTW!! Have a good one, Jen
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen! I can't wait to see what you make for your boy's bathroom! It's good hearing from you again! Hope you have a good week! Tricia
